Clinical studies

Most of our small patients with cancer and serious blood disorders can take part in GPOH (Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Society) clinical trials to gain access to the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. An overview of ongoing pediatric oncology studies, including numerous therapy optimization studies, is provided by the GPOH study portal.

If the children and adolescents suffer a relapse despite first-line therapy and intensive pre-treatment, their chances of recovery are often not good - especially in the case of solid tumors or brain tumors. Thanks to far-reaching developments in molecular genetic analysis and a large number of new so-called targeted drugs and immuno therapeutic approaches, we are certain better help these children in the future. As part of the KiTZ translational program, the KiTZ Clinical Trial Unit is developing Phase I / II experimental clinical trials to test new therapeutic approaches. With this individualized approach, the study unit takes a pioneering role in Germany.
