The parents' association "Aktion für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Heidelberg" has used donations to set up a family home with 16 apartments so that parents are able to stay close to their child during the difficult time of cancer therapy. Each apartment is fully equipped, with two beds, a bathroom, refrigerator, telephone and television. For cooking, a kitchen is available, which can also be used as a common room.
The contact person for the parent accomodation is Alicia Amberger, who is also the director of the sibling care facility "Kinderplanet".
The parent accomodation is an initiative of the parents' association "Aktion für krebskranke Kinder e.V.". Under the chairmanship of Stefanie Baldes, the association is committed to helping the parents of children with cancer by several means in order to support the affected families. It also promotes research in childhood leukemia and tumors.
