Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit

The Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit combines research from the medical faculty of the Heidelberg University with research performed at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). Its objective is to connect molecular research with clinical treatment.

The MMPU is headed by Prof. Dr. Matthias Hentze (EMBL), Dr. Jan O. Korbel (EMBL) and Prof. Dr. Andreas Kulozik.

Research within the MMPU focuses on the molecular relationships of common and highly relevant rare diseases, with a particular focus on childhood and adolescent illnesses. The staff of the MMPU comes from both institutions and the research groups are mostly led by two cooperating group leaders.
