For a childhood without cancer!

Research at the KiTZ

To improve cure rates in childhood cancers and severe blood diseases and to reduce side effects and late complications, new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are needed. Thanks to the technological revolution of the past years regarding molecular anaylsis, it is now possible to decode the entire genetic and epigenetic code of a tumor within a few days.

Our research groups, which belong to the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), as well as the Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD), apply state-of-the-art technologies to better understand the biology of childhood cancers - aiming on the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
