At KiTZ, pediatric oncologists work hand in hand with scientists to ensure the best possible care for our young patients. This also includes, for example, highly specialized tumor surgery, which is available for tumor clarification or therapy.
But patient care at KiTZ goes far beyond medical care. Our nursing team is there around the clock for our children and their families. The psychosocial team helps affected families cope with their child's cancer and its consequences. At the Kinderplanet care facility, experienced educators take care of patients' siblings. The hospital school teaches school-age patients in a very sensitive way. To enable parents to be close to their child during the difficult time of cancer therapy, apartments for parents' accomodation have been set up in the children's hospital.
