Teamwork for our young patients

Our experienced physicians at the Clinic for Pediatrics III - Oncology, Hematology, Immunology and Pneumology (headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Kulozik) ensure that the "kids of KiTZ" are cared for according to the latest medical standards.

Well cared for all around!

Our outpatient team and the nursing staff of the pediatric oncology department are also there for the children and their families and do their utmost to ensure their well-being. The psycho-social team ensures that the children and their families are well cared for far beyond the medical therapy and supports the affected families in coping with the cancer and its consequences.

In the Kinderplanet care facility, experienced educators take care of the patients' siblings. The hospital school teaches school-age patients in cooperation with their home schools.

    Progress begins with research
Another important pillar of the KiTZ is science: more than 160 researchers are working to better understand the molecular mechanisms of cancer development in children. From the scientific findings, they derive new diagnostic procedures and therapeutic approaches.
