Cancer - for the children affected and their families, this diagnosis inevitably means a deep cut. But in most cases the chances of recovery are good: more than 80 percent of children and adolescents in Germany who are diagnosed with cancer can be successfully treated today. The prerequisite is age-appropriate, professional medical care.
Our patients receive comprehensive outpatient, day-care and inpatient care from the Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital. The Clinic for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology at Heidelberg University Hospital is a "Certified Pediatric Oncology Center". This award proves that the clinic meets the high quality requirements for pediatric oncology centers in accordance with the specifications of the German Cancer Society.
In the future, research and treatment for our patients will be unified under one roof in the new KiTZ building.
