Research on embryonic tumors

Embryonic tumors are formed by degeneration of primitive tissue during the embryonic development of the child and form malignant solid tumors. Neuroblastomas are the most common solid tumors outside the brain in children, accounting for about seven percent of all cancers.

The research group ofDr. Frank Westermann (DKFZ and KiTZ), investigates the molecular causes of neuroblastoma and aims to translate the latest scientific findings into targeted therapeutic concepts as quickly as possible.
