Making "keeping up" easier
The "kids from KiTZ" benefit from offers that go far beyond purely medical therapy. For example, the children have the opportunity to attend the Heidelberg hospital school during their inpatient or day clinic stay. The school is sponsored by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The lessons at the Heidelberg Hospital School provide the children and adolescents with a normal part of everyday life in the hospital and thus contribute to their stabilization. At the same time, "keeping up with curriculum" makes it easier for the children to return to their regular school. The team at the clinic school works closely with the home school and - if necessary - with the relevant school authorities.
When teaching, the teachers at the Heidelberg Hospital School take into account the illness-related needs of our school-age patients.
