Embryonic tumors

Embryonic tumors are formed by degeneration of primitive tissue during the embryonic development of the child and form malignant solid tumors. Neuroblastomas are the most common solid tumors outside the brain in children, accounting for about seven percent of all cancers.
In order to be able to translate the latest scientific findings about the molecular causes of neuroblastomas into targeted therapeutic concepts as quickly as possible, the group of PD Dr. med. Frank Westermann (DKFZ) performs their research in cooperation with the KiTZ.
