KiTZ director and head of the department of pediatric neuro-oncology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) professor Stefan Pfister as well as the KiTZ scientists and DKFZ group leader David Jones and Marcel Kool are in the "Highly Cited Researchers' list 2018". It is a list of scientists worldwide whose research has received special recognition: They have been cited by other scientists particularly often. "Highly cited" are those who belong to the top 1 percent of the most cited in their field. This honors the publications' significance and quality.
The list is published by Clarivate Analytics. Basis for the evaluation is the "Web of Science" database, which contains scientific articles from around 34,000 journals.
