KiTZ director Professor Stefan Pfister welcomed the WWE Superstars and introduced them to INFORM. "INFORM is a database and a network of study centers at the same time," Pfister explained to the guests. “It can open up new treatment options for children with cancer who no longer have standard therapy. For patients who are considered "out of therapy", INFORM is often the last hope. "
In conversation with Professor Pfister, the prominent guests of WWE also report on their own activities in the field of childhood cancer. The media company has long been committed to new diagnostic and therapeutic options for children with cancer in the United States. For example, WWE supports the “Connor’s Cure” foundation for children with cancer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
After the official part of the event, which was attended by around 50 KiTZ employees from research and clinics, the WWE athletes made themselves available for photos and autographs. Then it went on to the pediatric oncology ward of the children's clinic of the Heidelberg University Hospital. There the wrestlers got an idea of the clinical care of the KiTZ patients and also got to know some of the affected children personally.
