Now there is a short film about this important development cooperation, which also explains how modern precision diagnostics can improve treatment for children with cancer worldwide. Globally, an estimated 40 percent of all children and adolescents with cancer die from their disease. Accurate cancer diagnostics and access to suitable therapies could significantly improve the success of treatment. With the "MNP Outreach" program, KiTZ, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) want to provide low-income countries worldwide with free access to modern precision diagnostics.
Special thanks go to the local patients and their families who shared their stories for the film, as well as to the dedicated scientists and doctors at the partner centers who gave the KiTZ delegation insights into their work and supported this film. We would also like to thank Illumina and the organization BILD hilft e.V. ,, Ein Herz für Kinder" for supporting the MNP outreach program.
